Main points
- During 2016/17, staff numbers, directly employed by further education institutions, amounted to 8,045 FTEs.
- The overall number of direct staff FTEs rose by 3% between 2015/16 and 2016/17.
- Year on year changes in staff FTE numbers varied across further education institutions, with all but three institutions experiencing an overall increase in staff FTE numbers relative to 2015/16.
