Original consultation

We want your views on our further proposed amendments to secondary legislation for development management.

Consultation description

This covers 3 orders.

Statutory consultees

Proposed amendments to the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012 to update the consultation thresholds for statutory consultees. We are also proposing the thresholds for water and sewerage undertakers who are being made statutory consultees.

Design and access statements

Proposed amendments to the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012 in relation to Design and Access Statements (DAS) to make them mandatory in only certain circumstances. We are also proposing to relax the specific content requirements of DAS.

Houses in multiple occupation

Proposed  amendments to  the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 to create a new use class for small Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and related amendments to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995. The aim of this proposal is to allow local authorities the opportunity to consider the impacts of small HMOs on the local area through the submission of a planning application.
