Wales now has the powers to collect and manage fully-devolved Welsh taxes, following the introduction of the Tax Collection and Management (Wales) Act 2016.
The Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA) has been established to collect and manage Land Transaction Tax - replacing Stamp Duty Land Tax - and Landfill Disposals Tax in Wales from April 2018. The taxes will be the first to be introduced in Wales for around 800 years.
To reflect this major milestone for Wales, the WRA has designed a draft charter that is different to traditional charters. Based on research and feedback already carried out, the draft charter uses an innovative diagram, designed to be easily understood at a glance.
Setting out its values, the charter will eventually be the blueprint for the way the WRA will work with its customers, the Welsh public and partners to deliver a fair tax system for Wales.
At this stage, nothing is set in stone and your opinion is vital. The charter will be developed to reflect feedback provided through the consultation. Please take this opportunity to tell us what you think.
