We rightly recognise and reflect upon the valuable role our Armed Forces community in Wales play on a regular basis. The past months during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have seen our Armed Forces community step in and step up to provide support and expertise in communities across the country. They justly deserve our gratitude and appreciation.

As a Government, we remain firmly committed to providing targeted services and support that meet the needs of this community.  In May of last year, I laid our first Armed Forces Covenant Annual Report before the Senedd.  This year, due to the unprecedented challenges we have faced from Covid 19, the report has unfortunately been delayed.  However, work has continued and we have made progress on a wide-range of initiatives that have helped both Serving and ex-Service families settle into our communities, adjust to civilian life, and contribute to the communities in which they live.

Once again, the Armed Forces Expert Group and our other partners have played an important role in ensuring we deliver services and support for those who need it, and I am grateful for the progress made and the input received from the organisations and individuals involved.

The Welsh Government will continue to work in collaboration with The Armed Forces Expert Group and our key partners to deliver the support our Armed Forces community deserves.
