We established the TB eradication programme, with a long-term goal of eradicating bovine TB. Since 1 October 2017, TB Areas have shown the disease status across holdings in a defined area. The Low, Intermediate & High areas are an amalgamation of spatial units, made up of parishes. The spatial units are compatible with the CPH system and each contains a similar number of herds. This approach is not affected by local authority boundary changes. It is also flexible to change, to match the disease situation. We will track the disease situation of the areas, and review the spatial units on a regular basis.

This map shows the current TB Incidence Area boundaries as at 1 November 2021. On 1 November 2021, spatial units CL1, CL2 and GW1 were temporarily reclassified as part of the Intermediate TB Area North (ITBAN) from the Low TB Area. This is different from maps published before this date. It also differs from the latest dashboard (Q2 2021) published with data up to 30 June 2021. The 2021 Q4 dashboard will include the reclassification of these spatial units. It will also include the data covering the period from 1 November 2021 when the spatial units were reclassified.
