What we are doing
In phase 1, UK Highways A55 Ltd successfully replaced the hangars, ensuring the bridge is safe for drivers and pedestrians.
Phase 2 will include:
- painting the underdeck, parapets and bearing access
- repairing concrete corbels
- recalibrating the land saddle
- upgrading lighting
Next steps
Phase 2 works have started.
Traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration of the works.
This includes a 7.5 tonne weight restriction for vehicles, including emergency service vehicles.
Drivers must adhere to the weight restriction and should plan an alternative route.
Details are available at A5 Menai Bridge: frequently asked questions.
During the works, there may be traffic lights in place and you may not be able to cross the bridge in both directions.
