Public Appointments case study: Faith Ebhoaye
Agricultural Advisory Panel
Faith Ebhoaye, is originally from Nigeria but has lived in Cardiff since 2020.
She is a political science graduate and has over twenty years experience in teaching, financial management, human resource and people management, sales and customer service, and health and social care.
Faith is a member of the Agricultural Advisory Panel and was assigned this role through the Welsh Government Shadow Scheme. She applied for a role because she was keen to use her experience and skills to benefit communities across Wales.
Faith said:
“I was keen to take up a public appointment because I have a real passion for helping people, identifying and solving problems and a desire to make a positive impact in my community.”
Being a panel member of the Agricultural Advisory Panel has not only allowed Faith to give back to her community, but it has also helped her to develop her skills and gain more experience.
She has developed her decision making skills, learnt techniques for talking and listening to stakeholders and gained experience of participating at board meetings. These are transferable experiences that can be used in other parts of her life, both professionally and personally.
She has also had the chance to travel around Wales and talk to people from different communities. This has helped her to understand the issues they are facing and to help shape solutions to these issues.
Faith added:
“The opportunities provided by a public appointment are endless.
Not only do I get to play an active role in improving the lives of people in Wales, but I have also had the opportunity develop a range of skills. I feel that this role has helped develop my leadership skills as well as finding out more about the experiences of those working in agriculture across Wales.”
