Summary of outcome
We published a single response to the following 4 consultations:
- updated guidance for undertaking Gypsy and Traveller accommodation assessments
- updated guidance for managing unauthorised encampments
- updated guidance for managing Gypsy and Traveller sites
- updated guidance for designing Gypsy and Traveller sites
We did this because they are closely related, many of the policies related to one will affect the others.

Original consultation
We want your views on our updated guidance for managing unauthorised encampments.
Consultation description
The main changes that are being taken forward in the draft guidance are:
- updating to reference the Housing (Wales) Act 2015
- updating references to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022
- updating to reference the Anti-racist Wales Action Plan
- clarification of the descriptions of different Gypsy and Traveller sites
- a greater focus on a proportionate and reasonable approach to unauthorised encampments
- a greater focus on alternatives to unauthorised encampments
- a greater emphasis on consultation with Gypsy and Traveller residents
