What funding is available?
Capital grant’s are available at 2 levels:
- small grants under £50,000
- larger grants of up to £350,000
About the grant
The VAWDASV grant is a capital only grant scheme.
Capital projects must fit within the 6 objectives of the Welsh Government's 2022 to 2026 VAWDASV strategy.
Who can apply for the grant?
- Third sector organisations
- Local authorities
- Other public bodies
- Health boards
We will not accept applications from private sector organisations and businesses.
Required criteria
Capital grants are available for:
- property purchase
- acquisition of sustainable assets benefiting service users for a minimum of 5 to 10 years
- refurbishment and adaptation projects to enhance inclusivity and accessibility
- upgrades to refuge spaces, move-on provision, and service user office spaces
- projects aimed at service improvement, including working with children and young people (victims and those displaying harmful behaviour)
- one-stop-shop services addressing perpetration and victim support
- victim safety initiatives
- enhancements to service user areas and equipment
- digital and IT equipment, where it directly supports service users (please discuss digital requests with your Regional Advisor)
How to apply
The grant scheme is closed for applications.
Assessment of bids
Welsh Government officials will assess applications:
- Sift 1: check all information is complete (including quotations / valuations).
- Sift 2: score projects against criteria, including alignment with the Welsh Government VAWDASV Strategic Objectives, to determine they meet the aims of the capital grant scheme.
