Help to Buy - Wales (Shared Equity Loan Scheme): April to June 2025

In December 2024 the Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government announced the scheme in Wales would continue until September 2026.

• Since its inception on 2 January 2014 to 30 June 2025, there have been 14,939 completions under Help to Buy Wales.
• First time buyers accounted for over three quarters of these completions and over half of the completions were 3 bedroom properties.
• Between 1 April and 30 June 2025, 159 property purchases were completed using a Welsh Government shared equity loan.
• Between 1 April and 30 June 2025 there were 3 completed purchases of leasehold properties, all of which were flats.
• At 30 June 2025 there were 121 applications for loans still outstanding.
• During the quarter, the value of properties purchased totalled £41.9 million whilst the value of equity loans totalled £8.3 million.
• The mean property purchase price using the scheme during this quarter was £263,265 with a mean equity loan value of £52,000.
