About planning application fees

Most planning applications or requests for consent require a fee. The amount you pay depends on the type and size of the development.

Some applications do not need a fee. Others may have a reduced fee. This depends on the type of application and your circumstances.

If you’re not sure about the fee, contact your local planning authority before you apply. If you pay too little, your application may be delayed or returned as invalid.

You can find more guidance on planning fees in the Development Management Manual.
