Agenda item 1: introductory remarks, notes and actions of the previous meeting

The notes and actions of the previous meeting held on 24 June were agreed.

Agenda item 2 (a): work health and safety in Wales: using and sharing information in regulating work health and safety in Wales: a report for TUC Cymru

The Forum received a presentation summarising key highlights in the “Regulating Work Health and Safety in Wales” (Executive Summary). The Forum noted the report.

Agenda item 2 (b): key points arising from stakeholder engagement

TUC Cymru shared feedback obtained from their engagement with regulatory bodies and others on themes covered in the report. This indicated a general level of consensus on the need for more collaborative and proactive approaches where possible.

Agenda item 2 (c): questions and discussions about the report

The Forum had an engaging discussion on the report. This included questions, observations, and points of clarification. The Forum broadly welcomed the report and emphasised the importance of early engagement of relevant organisations. The Forum agreed that case studies can provide useful examples of good practice that others can learn from. The Forum also noted the changing context for labour market enforcement, given the steps being undertaken by the UK Government to establish the proposed Fair Work Agency. 

Agenda item 3: any other business and meeting close

The Forum agreed to meet again before the end of the Senedd term in 2026.
