Jan Luke is the heart of Roch CP School, Pembrokeshire, serving as both a beloved Learning Support Assistant in Years 5 and 6 and one of the school’s ELSA and Wellbeing Champions. Renowned for her boundless compassion and tireless commitment, Jan goes above and beyond to nurture pupils’ emotional and social wellbeing.

Jan founded a nurture group that is already transforming the lives of vulnerable children, offering consistency, care, and creative support. Whether collecting surplus food for cooking projects, leading Afterschool/ Holiday clubs, or bringing her energy as District Commissioner of Pembrokeshire Pony Club, Jan’s impact extends far beyond the classroom.

In times of tragedy, she emerges as a steadfast source of strength, guiding both pupils and staff through grief with empathy and resilience. Despite her own health challenges, Jan is always present, offering a listening ear, practical help, and unwavering support. Her quiet determination, humility, and ability to inspire trust make her an unsung hero—one whose influence will be felt for years to come.
