Faith in Families is a powerhouse of compassion and innovation, redefining the role of a community charity in Swansea. In neighbourhoods grappling with poverty and crisis, their Community Cwtches provide safe spaces where children flourish and families find vital support.
In 2024, Faith in Families pioneered Cwtch Mawr, Wales’s first Multibank. In its first year alone, the initiative generated nearly £28 million in social value. By November 2024, Cwtch Mawr had distributed over one million essential items, supporting more than 30,000 families and keeping surplus goods in use.
Their holistic approach includes childcare, advice, training, and family support groups, empowering parents, upskilling adults, and nurturing brighter futures. Guided by their motto, “Hugs not Handouts”, Faith in Families restores dignity, instils hope, and builds resilient communities. Their extraordinary impact makes them a truly deserving finalist for the St David Award for Community Spirit and a beacon of what is possible when compassion meets action.
