Details

The Welsh seabird conservation strategy sets out a ten-year plan to protect and restore our seabird populations.

The strategy includes species such as puffins, gannets and terns. These birds are an important part of our marine ecosystems and cultural heritage. However, they face growing threats from climate change, habitat loss, disease and human disturbance.

The strategy focuses on

  • monitoring seabird populations
  • identifying the most significant pressures
  • taking practical action to reduce them

It aims to improve habitats, tackle invasive species and work with partners to build future resilience.
