Written Statement: Chair to Social Care Wales Board: Preferred Ministerial Candidate Selection

Following an open public appointment process and in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments, I am delighted to announce that I have selected Katija Dew as my preferred candidate for the role of Chair of Social Care Wales Board. 

This appointment is subject to pre-appointment scrutiny by the Senedd which is taking place on the 4 March 2026. Following the pre-appointment hearing, I will make my final decision on the appointment and update members accordingly.
