Partnership working across our public services is essential in Wales. It is how we make the most of our shared resources to deliver the maximum benefit for our people and communities.

One of the key opportunities to focus on our shared priorities is through the Partnership Council for Wales (the Partnership Council). This brings together the Welsh Ministers, 22 council Leaders and colleagues from across public services in Wales including NHS (Wales), Police and Crime Commissioners, One Voice Wales, National Parks, Wales Council for Voluntary Action and Fire and Rescue Services.

In line with our responsibilities under Section 73 of the Government of Wales Act 2006, I was pleased to lay a report entitled Review of the activities and achievements of Partnership Council for Wales – April 2022 to March 2026 in the Senedd yesterday, to highlight the areas we have focused on in the Partnership Council over the past 4 years. This highlights the benefits of partnership working on issues such as climate change, the cost-of-living crisis, the Welsh benefits charter, equality and inclusion across our communities, and the future of our health and care systems.

I would like to thank all Partnership Council for Wales members and observers for their contributions and work towards the achievements overseen by the Partnership Council. Their ongoing commitment to working in partnership is appreciated and contributes to the delivery of better services and outcomes for the people of Wales.
