UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)

The Welsh Government is the data controller for this engagement period and for any personal data you provide in connection with representations submitted during the engagement period on the proposed Glyndŵr National Park Designation Order.

This engagement period provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations to submit evidence, information or other material considerations which Welsh Ministers may wish to take into account before reaching a final decision on the Designation Order.

Welsh Ministers have statutory functions in relation to the consideration of National Park Designation Orders and will process personal data provided through this engagement period in order to inform the exercise of those functions. The lawful basis for processing personal data is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and in the exercise of official authority vested in Welsh Ministers (Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR).

How your information will be used

Any representation, evidence or information you submit may be considered by Welsh Government officials advising Welsh Ministers on the proposed Designation Order and may be used in the preparation of advice to Ministers regarding a final decision.

Your response may be shared within the Welsh Government and, where necessary, with relevant advisers, legal representatives or contractors acting on behalf of the Welsh Government. Any such processing will be undertaken in accordance with contractual and data protection requirements.

Publication and disclosure

Welsh Ministers may publish a summary of the representations received during this engagement period and may refer to issues raised in representations when explaining the final decision.

The Welsh Government may also publish representations received where it considers it appropriate to do so in order to explain the evidence and considerations informing the final decision on the Designation Order. Where representations are published, personal contact details will normally be removed.

You should be aware that information submitted to the Welsh Government may be subject to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. The Welsh Government may therefore be required by law to disclose some information you provide.

Representations submitted during this engagement period should not be regarded as confidential. The Welsh Government may need to disclose information where this is necessary for the consideration of the proposal or where required by law.

How long will we keep your information?

Personal data collected through this engagement period will be retained for up to three years following the conclusion of the designation process, unless there is a legal or operational reason requiring longer retention.

Where information is included in published reports, decision documents or other public records, those published materials may be retained indefinitely.
