This Welsh Health Circular was set for review on 28/02/2023.
The review concluded that there was no longer a need to prioritise the coding of COVID-19 patient episodes ahead of coding other activity. This decision supports the transition from COVID-19 as a pandemic to being an endemic condition.
WHC/2022/009 is therefore withdrawn.
