Professor Peter Ghazal Sêr Cymru research chair in systems medicine at Cardiff University

Professor Peter Ghazal, an internationally-respected systems immunologist, moved to Cardiff University from his previous base in Edinburgh to take up the Sêr Cymru research chair in systems medicine. Professor Ghazal's research interests are understanding how host-gene networks control infection, especially with those host-pathways associated with sepsis and the immune-metabolic axis.

He is a leader in multidisciplinary translational research, for example, linking engineering with genomics. He has impressive commercialisation credentials.
