Details

This Order will stop up a length of highway for the construction of 529 residential units, 24 assisted living units, pub/restaurant, retail units, primary school and associated landscape and highway infrastructure on the land formerly known as Whitehead Works on Mendalgief Road, Newport, NP20 2NT, in accordance with planning permission granted under Part 3 of the 1990 Act by Newport City Council on 11 September 2018 with reference number 15/0775, accompanied by the reserved matters with reference number  18/1039 granted on 17 March 2020, 18/1142 granted on 9 April 2020 and 21/0464 granted on 22 December 2021, and described  in Schedule 2 to this Order. 

The stopping up of a length of the existing highway is considered necessary to facilitate this development.
