The effect of the proposed Order will be to ensure that the speed limit on specified lengths of the A4042 Trunk Road from Cwmbran to Mamhilad in Torfaen remains at the upper national speed limit of 70 mph.

The proposed speed limit Order is required following the change in the national default speed limit from 30 mph to 20 mph on restricted roads across Wales where street lighting is present was undertaken. This Derestriction Speed Limit Order ensures the speed limit will not be reduced to 20 mph.
