Data on authorised and unauthorised absenteeism by pupils of compulsory school age for September 2022 to August 2023.

This report was revised on 19 October 2023, after initial publication on 27 September 2023. The revision was the inclusion of data from 4 secondary schools in one local authority that were not included in the original release. Changes have been marked with an (r). None of the main messages or trends have changed as a result of this revision. The majority of figures are unchanged, and amongst those that have changed the most common change is by 0.1 percentage point.

Attendance and absence data in Welsh maintained middle and secondary schools for pupils aged 11 to 15, up to the late May bank holiday. It does not cover the entire school year, because of the effect on attendance of public exams which occur in May and June.
