ALW is funded by Welsh Government. It is led by Monmouthshire County Council on behalf of Trading Standards Wales.
ALW helps Local Authorities (LAs) enforce animal welfare legislation. ALW’s specialist officers work alongside LAs. They:
- carry out inspections
- investigate concerns, and
- take action, if required
This ensures a consistent approach across Wales.
