AWC was asked to review the welfare issues associated with:

  • manual catching and carrying of poultry, including:
    • broiler (meat) chickens
    • chickens kept for egg production
    • turkeys
    • ducks
  • mechanized poultry collectors and loading stations
  • poultry container systems used in commercial transport
