Grant to help reduce digital exclusion and supports our ambition for everyone to meet the Minimum Digital Living Standard.

What funding is available?
There are 2 types of grants.
Core Grant (up to 3 years)
- Available for projects based on identified local needs.
- Total funding: £360,000 revenue and £30,000 capital per year.
- Typical application: up to £40,000 revenue and £3,500 capital per year.
- Maximum application over 3 years: £120,000 revenue and £10,500 capital.
Innovation Grant (up to 12 months)
- Available for innovative ways to help people independently engage more with digital technology.
- Total funding: £40,000 revenue and £20,000 capital per year.
- Typical application: up to £10,000 revenue and £5,000 capital.
Who can apply for the grant?
The Digital Inclusion Wales Grant, both Core and Innovation is open to all sectors, including:
- community groups
- social enterprises
- third sector
- faith groups
- public and private sector organisations
If applying as a partnership/collaboration, you should name a lead organisation as the grant holder and data controller. Please also include a named lead from each partner organisation.
About the grant
The grants support projects that:
- embed digital inclusion in your organisation
- encourage cross-sector collaboration
- help people overcome barriers to digital exclusion
- strengthen or create partnerships to support localised needs
Funding can include staff costs where needed to release capacity to help support people.
Required criteria
All applications must include:
- evidence of written confirmation of commitment from all organisations involved
- the resources you will commit to and provide a proposed timeline for the outcomes
Core Grant
Core Grant projects must begin from 1 April 2026 and end on 31 March 2029.
Innovation Grant
Innovation Grant projects must begin from 1 April 2026 and end 31 March 2027.
We welcome projects that support Welsh-speaking communities and other language needs.
How to apply
The grant is now closed for applications.
Timeline and further information
- 17 November 2025: grant application window opens.
- 9 February 2026 (4pm): grant application window closes.
- Week commencing 16 February 2026: applications will be considered.
- Week commencing 12 March 2026: grant applicants will be informed of funding outcome.
- Week commencing 16 March 2026: successful grant applicants announced on GOV.WALES.
There will be no extension to the deadline for submission of 9 February 2026, late applications will not be accepted.
