What ARIs are for
ARIs can help us:
- align academic and external research with policy development and decision-making
- engage productively with researchers
- access a wide range of suppliers
- get stronger policy evidence bases
- share research commissions
The aim is to improve the flow of ideas, people and resources between the producers of research and government policy.
For more information on the background and purpose of ARIs, see the UK Government guidance for writing and using Areas of Research Interest.
Welsh Government ARIs
We are piloting the process of developing and publishing ARI documents. The first ARI is expected to be in the area of Welsh Language.
