Dear

ATISN 16136

Thank you for your request which I received on 04 March 2022. You asked for the following information:

  1. Purpose of hamper gifts to Foreign Embassies on St David’s Day?
  2. How many Embassies received these gifts?
  3. Breakdown of costs including man hours organising, transport costs etc?

I have provided and answer to each question below.

  1. What was the purpose of hamper gifts to Foreign Embassies on St David’s Day?

The hampers were a gesture to our key international partners on St David’s Day to show how much we value their relationship with Wales. Each hamper used sustainable packaging, fairly traded ingredients and high quality products made by female producers to promote Wales and our ambition to become a globally responsible nation.

  1. How many Embassies received these gifts?

Ten foreign Embassies received hampers, addressed to the Ambassador.

  1. Breakdown of costs including man hours organising, transport costs etc.?

We do not hold a breakdown of information on staff costs associated with the organising and sending of the hampers.  The cost of each hamper, including carriage, was £169.69 + VAT.
