Dear

ATISN 16151 – COVID trials on 5-11 year olds

Thank you for your request to the Welsh Government for information under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) received on 10 March 2022 relating to the roll out of vaccinations to 5 to 11 year olds. You requested the following: Details of the clinical trials specifically involving 5 to 11 year old children.

Our response

Welsh Government does not hold recorded information that is specific to clinical trials involving 5 to 11 year old children and refers to the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation’s (JCVI) final advice about COVID-19 vaccination for children aged five to 11 who are not considered to be at clinical risk. JCVI statement on vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years old (GOV.UK). However, you may find the following link useful Evaluation of the BNT162b2 COVID-19 Vaccine in Children 5 to 11 Years of Age (NEJM) which is found within that link.
