Dear

Request for Information – ATISN 16199

I wrote to you on 25 March regarding your request for information on Welsh Government Training Funding to Educ8.

Information requested

You asked:

  1. How much money from the public purse has been paid to City and Guilds from the Welsh Government?
  1. How much money from the public purse has been paid to Educ8 from the Welsh Government and more specifically in relation to funds from WG being spent on the 20 learners who have been ejected from the learning programme?

Our Response

I can confirm the Welsh Government holds information captured by your request.

For question one, City and Guilds are not a Welsh Government funded organisation and I can confirm that they have not received any direct payments relating to the Welsh Government Apprenticeship Programme.

For question two, Educ8 have been contracted to the Welsh Government Apprenticeship Programme since 1 August 2021. To date Educ8 have received £6,593,893.47. Of this value £29,994 relates to the learners that have been impacted by the circumstances you have described.

Next steps

If you are dissatisfied with the Welsh Government’s handling of your request, you can ask for an internal review within 40 working days of the date of this response.  Requests for an internal review should be addressed to the Welsh Government’s Freedom of Information Officer at: Information Rights Unit, Welsh Government, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ or Email: Freedom.ofinformation@gov.wales.  Please remember to quote the ATISN reference number above.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner.  The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:  Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.  However, please note that the Commissioner will not normally investigate a complaint until it has been through our own internal review process.

Yours sincerely
