Dear       ,

ATISN 16239 – Doses of monoclonal antibody therapies

Thank you for your request to the Welsh Government for information under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) received on 08 April regarding the current or likely availability of Evusheld for individuals in Wales.  You have requested the following:

Information on the number of doses (or units) of monoclonal antibody therapies available or anticipated to become available for “pre-exposure prophylaxis” or prevention of disease associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19) for individuals in Wales. Specifically this refers to “Evusheld”

  1. Date period: 1st March 2022 to 8th April 2022 (date of submission).
  2. Please include the number of doses available or expected to be available in near future. Where/if possible, give dates for expected availability.

Our response

In the period 1 March to 8 April 2022, no doses of Evusheld were available in the UK.   The Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce is responsible for the end-to-end provision of treatments for COVID-19 in the UK.  This includes medicines used in prophylaxis of COVID-19.  The Welsh Government does not hold any information about the number of doses of Evusheld anticipated to be available in the near future.

Further information about the Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce can be found at The COVID-19 Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

You may wish to direct your question to the Antiviral and Therapeutics Taskforce at attf@dhsc.gov.uk.
