Dear

ATISN 16311 Valero Ltd

Thank you for your request which I received on 13 May.  You asked for information relating to Valero LTD and the Welsh department for education:

  • dates of meetings between the two parties from 2015-22, including the nature of meetings; and
  • partnerships between Valero Ltd and Welsh universities.

Our response

The information you requested is outlined below.  There were two meetings during this period:

  • Attendance at the Apprenticeship Levy Employer Apprenticeship Forum on 2 July 2016.
  • Meeting with Julie James, Minister for Skills on 18 July 2016 to discuss the potential impact of the UK Government’s Apprenticeship Levy on their business and the effect it may have on their employers.

The Welsh Government holds no information on partnerships relating to Valero Ltd and Welsh universities or colleges.

Next steps

If you are dissatisfied with the Welsh Government’s handling of your request, you can ask for an internal review within 40 working days of the date of this response.  Requests for an internal review should be addressed to the Welsh Government’s Freedom of Information Officer at: Information Rights Unit, Welsh Government, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ or Email: Freedom.ofinformation@gov.wales

Please remember to quote the ATISN reference number above.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner.  The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Information Commissioner’s Office,
Wycliffe House,
Water Lane,

However, please note that the Commissioner will not normally investigate a complaint until it has been through our own internal review process.
