I wrote to you on 13 June regarding your request for information. 

Information requested

You asked for the following information in relation to the roll out of the 20 mph speed restriction throughout all of Wales –

The budget which has been set aside for the total cost of the installation of the 20mph limit throughout Wales.

Our response

The direct financial cost of the policy is estimated to be around £33 million.  Further details in relation to the impact of the policy can be found at the following link –Explanatory Memorandum to the Restricted Roads (20 mph Speed Limit) (Wales) Order 2022
