Original consultation

We want your views on our proposal to designate Colwyn Bay Porth Eirias beach as a bathing water.

Consultation description

The Bathing Water Directive requires member states to identify all bathing waters each year where large numbers of bathers are expected during the bathing season (15 May to 30 September). Once designated the bathing water will be subject to regular testing by Natural Resources Wales during the bathing season and given a water quality classification. The classifications help bathers make informed decisions about where they bathe.

We are consulting on our proposal to designate Colwyn Bay Porth Eirias  beach as a bathing water in Wales under the Bathing Water Directive (2006/7/EC) for the 2019 season.
