1.1 Cabinet approved the minutes of 22 June.

Item 2: First Minister’s items

Tour de France in Wales – 1 year to go event

2.1 The Prif Weinidog informed Cabinet that he, and the Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport, had attended an event at Caerphilly Castle earlier that day to mark one year until the Tour de France was due to visit Wales.

2.2 This would be a special moment for the country, for the first time Wales would feature in the event, with the whole of Stage three being hosted from Welshpool to Cardiff. Plans were being made to welcome the event to Wales and to showcase its landscape, and vibrant and friendly communities.

2.3 There would be a call for 1,000 volunteers along the length of the route to help make the Tour de France a success.
