Catherine Nakielny Member
Catherine Nakielny is a farmer and independent sheep advisor based on an upland farm near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire.
Catherine initially completed an agricultural degree followed by PhD in sheep breeding at Aberystwyth University and has worked in the UK sheep sector for the last 25 years.
With a specific interest in sheep health, Catherine has a good understanding of the diseases impacting on the Welsh sheep sector and their financial and welfare implications. With increasing consumer interest in the environmental impact of livestock farming, Catherine has undertaken a number of study trips to various countries via a Nuffield Farming Scholarship in 2011 and a Farming Connect Management Exchange in 2019.
