Following the Counsel General and Minister for Delivery’s approval of the Welsh language impact assessment, it was discovered that the typeface Helvetica does not fully support all the Welsh diacritics. Therefore, the typeface Arimo has now been chosen for use in Welsh statutory instruments.

Arimo is a sans serif typeface characterised by clean lines and the absence of decorative strokes. When used in printed material, Arimo provides a neutral and modern design. Importantly, it also provides full support for the Welsh diacritics.
