Christina Harrhy is Chief Executive of the Disused Tips Authority and a recognised leader in Welsh public service.
Raised in the south Wales valleys, growing up in the shadow of coal tips, she brings a personal understanding of the legacy Wales must manage and the responsibility it carries.
A Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Christina combines strong technical expertise with over 30 years’ leadership experience across Welsh public services. She previously served as a local authority Chief Executive, providing visible leadership through periods of significant change, including the Covid pandemic, and contributing to national policy development through her work with Solace Wales.
Christina's work has earned her national recognition, including Highly Commended Chief Executive and Council of the year finalist and other national accolades for council performance and leadership excellence.
Her leadership is grounded in building high-performing, values-led organisations that deliver for communities. She is committed to ensuring Wales manages its industrial legacy with care, confidence and professionalism—leaving a positive legacy for the communities she is proud to belong to.
Christina lives in Monmouthshire and enjoys the outdoors, travelling, and spending time in the Welsh landscape that continues to shape her perspective and values.
