We want your views on proposals for slaughterhouses (also known as abattoirs) to have CCTV where there are live animals.
Consultation description
We are consulting on requirements for slaughterhouse operators:
- to have CCTV in areas where there are live animals
- to allow enforcement agencies to access footage
- to store footage for a specified period
The consultation includes questions on our proposals with regards to:
- enhanced welfare provision
- greater enforcement
- costs to businesses
