Original consultation
We want your views on proposed changes to the cockle permit fee for the 2026 to 2027 permitting season.
Consultation description
We are consulting on a proposed increase in the Wales cockle fishing permit fee from £350 to £600. This represents 71% recovery of estimated associated fishery management costs.
Under this proposal, we would:
- meet 29% of 2026 to 2027 costs
- provide a transitional period for permit holders to adapt to the increase
