A summary of the Panel's purpose and how it will work.

Background

The Welsh Government’s Programme for Government included a commitment to establish a Creative Skills Body.

The Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip decided that this Body would be delivered internally through Creative Wales with a new core advisory panel to guide its work and report back to the Creative Wales Non-Executive Board.

Remit

The Creative Skills Advisory Panel will:

  • approve, monitor and advise on a new Creative Wales Skills three year action plan
  • agree criteria and structure of a new Creative Wales Skills Fund with priorities set by the three-year action plan
  • provide quarterly updates to the Creative Wales Non-Executive Board

The Panel

The Creative Skills Advisory Panel will be made up of:

  • one industry representative from the screen sector
  • one industry representative from digital sector
  • one industry representative from the music sector
  • one Higher Education representative
  • one Further Education representative
  • one training provider representative
  • one public service broadcaster representative
  • one diversity and inclusion champion
  • one union representative
  • one Gogledd Creadigol representative
  • two Creative Wales representatives
