Switching off analogue services

It has been widely published that BT will be switching off the current analogue services which include Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)2 and ISDN30 by December 2025 and will be replaced with Digital Phone Lines (Internet Protocol-IP).

A phased migration is already underway, with a National 'Stop Sell' to be implemented by September 2023. ‘Stop Sell’ is a term used when there are limitations on new supply and what can be done on existing lines.

BT has produced a series of useful fact sheets on how moving to digital phone lines will affect analogue services in specific industries.

For more information, resources, and to view the fact sheets, visit the BT website.

The Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Network Services 2 (RM3808) can support migrations to IP. If you have any queries, please e-mail CCS directly, and include ‘PTSN Expiry’ in your subject header: networkservices@crowncommercial.gov.uk
