Draft guidance in support statutory recovery targets set under Waste (Wales) Measure 2010

The guidance is prepared under section 7 of the Waste (Wales) Measure 2010. It supports the definitions in the order and the monitoring regime set under regulations 4 and 5 of the regulations.

This guidance will provide clarity on:

• the definitions of recycling preparation for re-use and composting contained in the order 
• the monitoring and reporting requirements contained in the regulations.

We are also seeking your views on proposals to introduce legislation that will define the position on:

• the de-watering (the removal of water from) anaerobic digestion (AD) digestate (what is left after digestion) from facilities 
• how the recovery rates from AD composting and the recycling of IBA and air pollution control residues (APCR) are calculated for facilities that take materials from multiple sources.
