Background
The Improving Outcomes for Children team in Welsh Government have issued a webform to collect data and information from each Local Authority in relation to their Edge of Care services. This work will inform a mapping exercise taking place where we are seeking to identify the services that are supporting children and families where the children are either looked after or considered to be at risk of becoming looked after.
In completing the form the Welsh Government will receive personal information (name and e-mail address) linked to the responses.
The Welsh Government receives this personal information (name, email addresses and responses) when the form is submitted.
Providing your name and professional email address is necessary to verify that we have received responses from each Local Authority. Further to this, the provision of this information allows us to contact you if we require any clarification regarding any of the responses received.
What do we do with your information?
Your contact details may be used to send you further information in relation to the findings of the survey or for clarification of any of the responses received. Email communications will be managed securely and recipients’ email addresses will not be visible to other participants.
What is the lawful basis for using your data?
Welsh Government (‘we’) will be the data controller for the personal data you provide to ensure that we have received information from all 22 Local Authorities, the information may also be used to clarify any responses received.
The lawful basis for processing this personal data is Article 6(1)(e) – processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
How long will we keep your information?
Your personal data will be held for 6 months post-receipt of the survey whilst the responses are reviewed and further work actioned, after which it will be securely deleted.
The information will not be shared outside of the Welsh Government.
Your rights in relation to your information
Under the data protection legislation, you have the right:
- to access the personal data the Welsh Government holds on you;
- to require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data
- to (in certain circumstances) object to or restrict processing
- for (in certain circumstances) your data to be ‘erased’
