This research evaluates evidence regarding the effects of changes to the school calendar and alternative school calendars upon several key outcomes.

The review examines the findings of 33 resources, which were found using two literature searches, and subjected to a two-stage screening process.

The review presents evidence from a number of studies and evaluates the strengths and limitations of those studies. The review also offers recommendations for policy officials deciding upon potential changes to the school calendar in Wales.
