This report presents the findings from year 1 of the 3-year evaluation of universal primary free schools meals (UPFSM). It includes findings from in-depth school case studies, a survey of school senior leaders and stakeholder interviews.
It focusses on the implementation and uptake of UPFSM and procurement practices. It also explores on the impact on school administration, the health and wellbeing of learners and any impacts on family finances. The report contains conclusions and recommendations from these early findings.
