Research exploring the delivery of careers and employability support in prisons through the Working Wales service.

Working Wales in prisons programme launched in 2019 aiming to engage with prisoners to provide career and employability support, advice and guidance prior to release.

Monitoring data was analysed and interviews were conducted with Working Wales advisors.

This evaluation report explored the service between April 2021 and March 2024.

The report presents findings on:

  • service delivery
  • profile of prisoners accessing the service
  • referrals
  • outcomes
  • subsequent service support
  • barriers
