COVID Pass is no longer required for most overseas travel. Please check with your travel provider and see GOV.UK. travel pages for advice.

There are different ways to get a NHS COVID Pass depending on you or your child's age.

The NHS COVID Pass App

To apply for a digital NHS COVID Pass you must:

  • be aged 12 or over
  • be registered with a GP in Wales or England

You will need to upload a photo of one of the following:

  • passport
  • full UK driving licence
  • full European driving licence

You may also be asked to record a short video of yourself.

Get your digital NHS COVID Pass (nhs.uk). Once you have downloaded your NHS COVID Pass, the barcode will be valid for 180 days. This will automatically update every time you log into the service.

Requesting a paper COVID Pass

If you have a child under 12 or are unable to use the NHS COVID Pass App, you can request a paper certificate from the COVID status letter service. Your paper certificate will be valid for 180 days.

Get your NHS COVID Pass letter (NHS).

A person with parental responsibility for a child can request the letter on their behalf online.

The Welsh Vaccination Certification phone line is closed as of 31st October 2023: request a paper copy’.
