Main points
- There were 1,050 Gypsy and Traveller caravans reported in Wales on 19 January 2019.
- There were 124 sites across Wales.
Authorised sites
- Comparing the January 2018 and January 2019 count, the number of caravans has increased by 4% (33 caravans) on authorised sites.
Unauthorised sites
- There were 59 caravans on unauthorised sites on land owned by Gypsies and Travellers, accounting for 6% of all caravans.
- A further 78 caravans (7% of all caravans) were on unauthorised sites not owned by Gypsies and Travellers.
Gypsy and Traveller sites provided by local authority
- There were 402 pitches on Gypsy and Traveller sites provided by local authorities in Wales on 19 January 2019.
