1. Summary

Horizon Europe is the largest ever transnational programme supporting research and innovation. Run by the European Commission until 2027, it has a budget of €100bn.

Latest on the UK relationship with Horizon Europe

The UK is still eligible to take part in Horizon Europe. Information on the UK’s participation in the programme is available in the European Commission Q&A.

The EU is still formalising the UK’s association. If association is not achieved, there are proposed alternative UK programmes.

The UK government has guaranteed funding for the first and second wave of successful applicants to Horizon Europe who are unable to sign grant agreements with the EU before the UK’s formal association to the programme.
